Camp Coolamatong goes green and invests in a 18kW Solar System

Camp Coolamatong is a school camp and accommodation venue that hosts a wide range of groups including schools, universities, families and community groups. The property is located on the beautiful Banksia Peninsula in the Gippsland Lakes region of Victoria. During the consultation phase Island Energy’s CEC accredited designers visited the camp multiple times to assess the suitability and viability of installing solar, to provide the camp director with clear advice and direction specific to the venues energy requirements. The total system cost $30,215.82 but after government rebates that Island Energy helped to secure including -$7,844.00 federal rebate as well as the ACA member discount the final upfront cost was just $23,870.00 which will pay for itself within 4 years.
